The foundation stone having been laid by His Excellency Sir Harry Cordeaux in 1920 the Supreme Court is similar in design to the central Public Building north of it and was erected in 1921 in Neo-Georgian style. On the ground floor were the Supreme and Magistrate's Courts while the Registry, Jury Room, Chief Justice and Attorney General's Chambers and the Law Library were upstairs. Archives

Government House is the official residence of the Queen's personal representative in The Bahamas, the Governor-General. The house, a 10 acre estate, stands on Mount Fitzwilliam and dates back to the early 1800's. In front of the building is the statue of Christopher Columbus. This statue was imported from London in 1830,

Take a tour of Fort Charlotte, Nassau Bahamas. Fort Charlotte is the largest and most interesting of the three forts found in Nassau. Built in 1789 by Lord Dunmore and named in honor of the wife of King George III.This fort has never fired a shot in Battle. It includes a water-less moat, draw-bridge, ramparts and dungeons.
Fort Fincastle, Nassau Bahamas, overlooking the town from Bennet's Hill was built by Lord Dunmore, about 1793 who named it after his second title, Viscount Fincastle. In a letter to the Secretary of State of February 17, 1794, he describes it as "a battery upon a hill in this island to the Eastwards of the Government House mounting two 24 pounders, two 32 pounder Carronades, two 12 pounders."
